The country’s Awqaf ministry will organize the international event on July 25-28, Cairo24 website reported.
The governor of the South Sinai Governorate recently highlighted the success of the first edition and said necessary planning and coordination with related bodies have been made for holding the second edition.
He said various programs, including visits to Egypt’s historical sites, will be implemented for the contenders.
According to the Awqaf ministry, the contest aims to identify and encourage geniuses and talents in Quran memorization, promote the Islamic culture and spread religious thoughts.
It also aims to inform the participants about Egypt’s experiences in serving the Holy Quran, it says.

The international competition is will be held in two stages, with winners set to receive cash prizes ranging from 100,000 to 2 million Egyptian pounds.
Last year, the Quranic event was held in four categories for young men and women as well as teenagers.
